Terms & refunds
Who we are
HullVet (Mert Yigit, Ireland) runs the HullVet listing checks and publishes The Honest Boat Buyer's Kit. Paid products are sold through Lemon Squeezy, our reseller and merchant of record: it takes your payment, charges any sales tax or VAT and issues your receipt, and its buyer terms apply to the purchase.
HullVet listing checks
A HullVet report is an automated, AI-written first look at a listing you provide. It compares the asking price with our asking-price data and points out warning signs and questions to ask. It is not a marine survey, inspection, appraisal or valuation, and it can be wrong or incomplete: it only knows what the listing says and shows. Don't rely on it alone to buy, sell, lend or insure. See the boat in person, take a sea trial and hire your own accredited marine surveyor.
Your first check is free. Checks you buy (the starter pack, credit packs and the 5 that come with the kit) never expire. Unused starter and credit packs can be refunded within 14 days of purchase; just email us. HullVet Pro, for kit owners, gives you 10 checks each calendar month for $10 a month; unused Pro checks don't roll over, and you can cancel any time from your Lemon Squeezy emails and keep Pro until the end of the month you paid for. A "Need more info" report usually doesn't use a check. Please only submit listings you're allowed to share, don't include other people's personal details, and don't try to misuse or overload the service. We may limit or close accounts that do. If a check fails on our side, it doesn't use up a check.
The Honest Boat Buyer's Kit
The kit is a digital download: six PDF files and one Excel spreadsheet. Nothing is shipped. Your purchase gives you a personal licence to read, print and use the kit for yourself and your household, including printing the checklists and forms as often as you like. Please don't share the files, post them online or resell them.
30-day money-back guarantee
If the kit isn't for you, email us within 30 days of your purchase and we'll refund you in full through Lemon Squeezy, no reason needed. Refunds usually show within 5–10 business days. This guarantee is in addition to your rights under consumer law. Because the kit is digital content delivered right away, the usual 14-day EU right to withdraw ends once the download starts, but our 30-day guarantee still applies.
Education, not advice
Everything HullVet publishes is general education. It is not financial, legal, tax, insurance, engineering or survey advice. Boats, markets and rules change. Prices in our data are asking prices collected on 6 October 2026, not valuations. Check everything that matters for your own boat and situation.
As far as the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Our presenters
Hank and the HullVet crew are AI-generated characters, and some images are AI-generated. The people in our examples are fictional. The research, prices and sources are real.
Trademarks
Boat, engine and marketplace names are trademarks of their owners, used only to identify the products we write about. We're not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.
Law
These terms are governed by Irish law. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws where you live, and you can bring a claim there.
Contact
Email [email protected] and we'll get back to you, usually within two business days.
