Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data HullVet collects, why, and what you can do about it. We collect as little as we can.

Who we are

HullVet is run by Mert Yigit, based in Ireland, who is the data controller. Contact: [email protected].

Listing checks

To use HullVet listing checks you sign in with your email address. We store your email, when you signed up, which of our channels brought you (for example "hank"), how many checks you have used, and the reports we wrote for you, so you can open them again. We do not store the screenshots you upload, and we store the report rather than the full listing text.

When you run a check, your screenshots, any listing text and your notes are sent through OpenRouter to Anthropic's Claude model, which writes the report. We only allow routing to providers that don't store or train on that content, and they process it on our behalf. We don't need other people's personal details (such as a seller's phone number), so leave them out where you can.

We email you each report and your sign-in codes through Resend. The legal basis for all of this is performing our service for you (contract). We use Cloudflare Turnstile on the sign-in form to keep bots out, and count requests per IP address per day to stop abuse (legitimate interest); those counters are deleted after a few days.

We keep your account and reports until you ask us to delete them. Email us and we'll delete everything within 30 days, except order records we must keep for tax.

Buying the kit

Checkout is run by Lemon Squeezy, which sells our products to you as our reseller ("merchant of record"). It collects your name, email, billing country and payment details and handles payment, tax and fraud checks under its own privacy policy. We never see your card details. Lemon Squeezy tells us your name, email, country and what you bought, so we can deliver it, add your bonus checks, handle refunds and answer questions (contract). We keep order records for six years because Irish tax law requires it (legal obligation).

Email updates

If you tick the box to get our emails about buying and owning boats, we record your consent and when you gave it. Every email has an unsubscribe link. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Cookies, analytics and ads

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in to HullVet. We set no tracking cookies unless you click "Accept" in the cookie banner. If you accept, we may load the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.), to measure which ads bring visitors and show our ads to people who have been here, Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.), to count visits, and Google Ads conversion tracking (Google Ireland Ltd.), to measure which Google ads lead to a purchase or download and show our ads to people who have been here. You can change your mind with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. The checkout window may set cookies Lemon Squeezy needs to take payment.

Hosting

The website, its database and the sign-in check run on Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site (legitimate interest).

Transfers outside the EU

Cloudflare, OpenRouter, Anthropic, Resend, Lemon Squeezy, Meta and Google may process data in the United States. These transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to move it elsewhere, and you can withdraw consent at any time. We'll reply within one month. You can also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission or the authority where you live.

Children

HullVet is for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top.
